Dolat Capital, a quantitative trading firm, seeks a skilled Senior Linux Support Engineer to join our systems team. The Linux Support Engineer will help oversee the maintenance of hundreds of our production servers while supporting more than 100 users. Dolat has many high-capacity, low-latency, direct private lines between our sites, and we use the latest high-performance hardware.

Dolat’s Trading Support Engineers are the gatekeepers of the production trading environment.  We firmly believe in balancing a safe, orderly production environment that works optimally by deploying, maintaining, monitoring and operating a fleet of Linux servers to its optimal performance. We are looking for engineers who share this vision, and who shun complexity in favor of simplicity. You will help enable our technology evolution while maintaining control. You will be expected to help build the various tools to keep our systems running to their highest optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Debugging dropped packets, whether at the network, NIC, OS, or application layers
• Troubleshooting kernel panics and system hangs
• Analyzing performance issues
• Fine-tuning processes to run with the least jitter
• Directing support for our continuously active servers, lines, and low-latency network
• Installing, configuring, and deploying fully-distributed Red Hat Linux systems
• Taking a role in researching, testing, recommending, implementing, and maintaining a cutting- edge, ultra-low-latency system and network technologies
• Participating in an on-call rotation
• Deploy, monitor, and configure a complex suite of trading applications
• Provide exceptional trade support to a high-frequency trading floor environment
• Provide skilled hands-on technical expertise to trading, risk, middle office, and compliance teams across Windows and Linux platforms
• Develop fluency with existing systems, infrastructure, and procedures and proactively improve them

• Script against configuration files, databases, and logs
• Gather and analyze metrics to improve and report on the performance and efficiency of trading systems

• Solving problems by providing level one and level two support for our reporting and tools

• Monitoring and reporting on the status and health of our systems
• Serving as the primary technical contact for compliance and risk managers
• Contributing to the design and implementation of the support system to enhance reliability and self-correction
• Provides support for the front office, middle office and back-office applications and users
• Facilitate communication between trading, infrastructure and software development teams
• Supports proprietary and third-party trading systems and infrastructure
• Contributes to the engineering efforts to automate processes, monitor systems and
• Improve software management on both Microsoft and Linux platforms.
• Communicate directly with exchanges, clearing members and ISV’s to resolve trading issues

Qualifications

• A technical degree from an accredited university (B.E/B.Tech only)
• Knowledge in Linux Kernel tuning, configuration management with cfengine, Linux
• Network performance management/troubleshooting, hardware testing/integration and IT security
• Knowledge of maintaining Cisco, Windows, and PC hardware
• Fluency in at least one scripting/coding language
• Hands-on knowledge of SSH, iptables administration, NFS, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
• Knowledge with Open Source applications to build enterprise-level systems (i.e., Nagios, SmokePing, MRTG, etc.)
• Expertise in maintaining Cisco ports/VLANs/dot1.x settings in any office environment
• Experience with scripting tools such as Power Shell, Python, Perl and /or Bash is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret English-language technical documents
• A high aptitude for learning and employing appropriate technologies
• Solid scripting skills
• Software development skills are a plus but not required
• SQL and database administration skills are preferred
• Solid understanding of operating systems

Dolat Capital, a technology-driven quantitative trading firm, is looking to hire a network engineer to design, implement and support low latency trading network technology and solutions. The role will focus around co-Location networks, including client, exchange and vendor connectivity across Mumbai region.

As a Network Engineer, you will be working on the organization’s production network infrastructure, your mission will be to ensure the network is always fast (low latency), available, scalable and engineered to withstand unparalleled outages. You will be working in a team that combines network engineering, operations, system administration, and develop automation tools to enhance and operate our firm’s network platform. This is your chance to make a change, and transform our way of working with automation and scale.

Responsibilities

• Network Design; configure switches and routers; emphasis on complex multicast traffic.
• Layout data centers; we have a complex WAN and LAN with about 4 data centers.
• Recommend hardware and software upgrades to reduce system latency.
• Install, configure, support, and maintain servers and desktop computers. Most trading is done on Linux servers. Development is a mix of Windows and Linux.
• Help design our own servers optimized for performance and low-latency.
• Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks such as tape backups.
• Benchmark technology components to determine their latency and bandwidth.

• Manage collocation sites at financial exchanges
• Maintain network diagrams and associated network documentation

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Someone who is CCNA certification or who has done the CCNA & CCNP training course.

Dolat Capital, a quantitative trading firm is looking for a Data Center Engineer to join our systems and infrastructure team. A well-planned and well-orchestrated cabling and racking infrastructure are just as important to us as well-engineered trading application.

We are looking for an Engineer who has a drive for improvement and a want to bring new ideas to the table. This is a chance to take ownership of the physical part of our trading infrastructure across multiple data centers and hundreds of servers, all the while striving for simplicity and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

You will be in charge of maintaining our co-locations and on-site data center

• Installing and cabling switches, servers, and appliances in our onsite data center
• Prepare hardware equipment for remote site deployments
• Build out and maintaining our office infrastructure environment, including our trading floor
• Replacing hard drives/memory/transceivers and other hardware related tasks as required by our server and network teams
• Getting equipment to and from remote colocations including packing
• Facilitating installation of servers and network equipment with smart hands in remote co-locations
• Managing power and space including monitoring and capacity planning
• Maintaining a consistent and clean cable management philosophy
• Managing equipment inventory
• Maintaining data center documentation
• Responsible for maintaining detailed documentation of all deployed IT assets using an internal database

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a similar role within the data center industry, a Bachelors degree in Engineering
• Experience working in a modern, large-scale data center
• Attention to detail and cleanliness
• Ability to identify basic parts of network equipment – SFPs, line cards, chassis
• Ability to identify basic parts of servers – memory, network card, hard drives
• Knowledge of structured cabling systems using cat 5, cat 6, multi-mode and single-mode fiber
• Familiarity with both power and communications cabling standards
• Experience configuring and using cable testers for both fiber and copper to troubleshoot cabling issues
• An understanding of change control processes
• Strong documentation and logistics mentality
